Chatham has a hidden gem, and no it’s not at the bottom of the Thames River. It’s in the middle of downtown. The Capitol Theatre in the heart of the small city west of London played host to a great night of country music when Aaron Pritchett rolled into town this past Saturday.
Kicking off the show was local country powerhouse Brooklyn Roebuck. Over the past few years Brooklyn has grown into an amazing singer/songwriter. She wouldn’t confirm or deny an album in the works, but was heading off to Nashville right after the show to do some recording and writing in the music city. Keep your eyes peeled for more from Brooklyn as 2018 rolls on.
The main event was western Canadian country star Aaron Pritchett. Aaron has that summertime country sound that reminds me a lot of Kenny Chesney. From hits like Big Wheel, Dirt Road In Em, Let’s Get Rowdy and Out of The Blue his show heated up the Capitol Theater like it was summer outside. He didn’t miss any of his big hits in his 90 minute set showing Aaron can handle life on the big stage. Although he did mention as the stages get bigger he does need a bigger banner for the back of it.
We need to thank Chatham’s Capitol Theater for the hospitality while we were there. It’s an incredible venue and we hope to see some more country music in Ontario’s prairie city.
