Well the recently crowned CMA Duo of the Year The Brothers Osborne brought their brand of bluesy roots country to the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto last Thursday night and well it was pretty damn incredible.
The night kicked of with a band we are all to familiar with the James Barker Band. James and the boys have just recently signed a record deal with Universal Music Canada and are so excited for the next 12 months with so much in front of them. And on this night the fellas had a little extra in the tank it seemed. cranking out the new single Just Sayin’ and of course the bands SMASH summer hit Lawn Chair Lazy you could see the crowd was right into this one.
The boys pulled a little something special on stage and took the #MannequinChallenge. and pulled it off nicely. Check out below.

After those shenanigans it was time for the boys from Maryland to grace the stage at the Phoenix. I had a chance to see these fellas open for Darius Rucker a couple summers back now and WOW what a show they put on in thier 40 min slot. Now with a full 70+ Min set planned I knew I was going to be pleased with the outcome of the night.
Things kicked off with Pawn Shop and didn’t really slow down from there. The boys hammered through a 17+ song set that brought the hits such as Rum, 21 Summer and of course Stay A Little Longer. But it was a version of the Dixie Chicks Goodbye Earl that you can see a clip HERE. And of course the killer rendition of Take Me Home which seems to go over VERY well with the crowd these days especially.
The night wrapped up with a few requests that seemed to be to short and had the crowd wishing it was more like a 120 min set instead of the 72 or so min. This is a band you must see live. The voice of T.J. Mixed by likely the coolest brother in the world John who plays the shit out of every guitar he picks up over the course of the night. Go see Brothers Osborne if you ever get the chance. Hopefully we will see them back up in August for Boots and Hearts or at Lucknow. The crowd at Havelock would appreciate these guys as well. Here is hoping! Thanks to Universal Music and Live Nations for having us.
