On a beautiful night in Toronto, a sold out crowd danced and sang the night away with Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, Carly Pearce, and a few special guests.
Opening the night was Carly Pearce, a Kentucky native with a powerful voice. Capturing the crowd from the start. Keep your ears open for this beauty and her new album coming in the fall.
Tim Hicks hitting the stage next and he did so with a bang. Pyro everywhere. Things were definitely getting heated but Tim and his band always put on a heck of a show. Fitting to bring it so big at an admitted “bucket list venue” for Tim. For years he played at Grace O’Malley’s, a pub not to far away. Now he is right at home on the big stage.
Dean Brody, insert Bring(ing) Down The House comment here… I caught him in Hamilton on his Beautiful Freakshow tour stop and it was big, loud, bright, and a wicked time. Being at Budweiser Stage amplified all of that even more. Dean advertised some special guests during the show and he did not disappoint. First to join Dean on stage was Dallas Smith for Undone and Somebody Somewhere. Next, the always remarkable Madeline Merlo, to sing Lindi Ortega’s part in Bounty. Shevy Price also made an appearance to perform her section of Beautiful Freakshow. Dean’s final guest was Alan Doyle who joined Brody for Soggy Bottom Summer, It’s Friday, then performed his tune Ordinary Day. The show closed with Mountain Man and of course, Bring Down The House.
A perfect evening of music in Toronto, on a beautiful night down by the water. Here’s hoping there are a few more left before the cooler weather rolls in.
