If you live in Norfolk County there is an annual tradition for the Canadian Thanksgiving Long Weekend. The Norfolk County Fair and Horse show is an epic week long fall fair along Ontario’s coast of Lake Erie.
Every year thousands flock to Simcoe Ontario for the fair, its deep-fried creations and of course the grandstand shows. This year was all about the Canadian Country music with Ontario boy Tim Hicks rocking the stage on Friday night and the fella from Canada’s west coast Chad Brownlee Saturday night.
Friday night saw a capacity crowd looking to stay as Forever Rebels with the Stronger Beer singing’ man himself. With an epic set which included all the big hits. The set also included a tribute to the late Tom Petty. Tim didn’t take his foot off the gas pedal all night. He even threw in a couple of new tunes, which has us thinking there is some new music coming down the pipes from the St. Catherine’s native.
I’ll let the photos do the talking, but there is one thing I can say… Tim Hicks, outdoors at a fall fair is a great way to cap off the outdoor concert season even if it was a little soggy.
