Over the last couple years Sirius XM The Highway has sponsored a tour that would help promote some of the Highway Find artists on multiple dates across North America. This past week the tour kicked off in Washington, D.C and then made a quick detour North to Toronto for a packed house at The Danforth Music Hall. This time around headlining the tour is Canada’s own High Valley heading out on the 22 date tour playing in some of the biggest cities in America. (How’s that for a couple lads from Alberta?) Along for the ride is the uber talented Ashely Mcbride and Adam Doleac (who didn’t make it up to Toronto but will be joining some of the US dates) .
Now this was my first chance to get to see Ashely McBryde live and have to say I was a bit excited to catch her set. After a performance earlier in the afternoon for our Mason Jar Sessions and the magic that occurred during that I could only imagine what her set was going to bring. Ashley isn’t afraid to chat and get the audience banter going during her set and sometimes that’s tough to find in a younger artist. Not with Miss McBryde. She told us stories between songs that really went well with her brand of storytelling. With songs like Girl Goin’ Nowhere and You Got Fat, I Got Famous the crowd was enjoying every note. It was a pleasure to catch Ashley’s set and if you have tickets for any of the other dates on the tour get there early and don’t miss it.
Following up shortly after Miss McBryde left the stage were the Rempel Brothers AKA High Valley from La Crete, Alberta who were set to ignite the 2nd night of the tour on their native soil. Playing big cities like Toronto, New York and LA on this tour truly is a dream come true for Brad and Curtis and from the minute they touched the stage it was on. The charisma that they bring to the stage and the sheer passion you get to capture is awesome.
Having been a fan of the band for a while I have captured a few shows by HV this year already, but to get an opportunity like we did for this show (All Access behind the scenes made it that much more memorable.) The crowd at the show was fantastic singing along to what felt like every song on the set list. A cool moment from the night was when Brad came back out for the encore in an Eric Fehr Maple Leafs Jersey that brough an extra roar from the crowd. If you like a show where you get all the feels the Highway Find Tour is for you.
From She’s With Me, I Be U Be, County Line and the list goes on it truly was a big old sing along with the crowd eating up every moment of the show.
There are still lots of dates left on this one and we strongly suggest you getting out and taking one in. Thanks to Sirius XM The Highway, High Valley, Ashley McBryde and the folks at The Danforth Music Hall for having us out.
