What a night…
For those that haven’t had a chance to catch a performance by Florida native Jake Owen all I can say is you better hurry your ass up. There is just something about his personality on stage that truly shines. He knows how to WOW a crowd and have them singing along to song after song. Now this wasn’t your BIG festival stage which Jake has graced a few here in Ontario over the last couple year such as Lucknow Music in the Fields, Boots & Hearts and Rock the Park in London. Those were to some pretty big crowds. But on Saturday night this felt more like an intimate evening with Jake.
The night started off with just Jake and his guitar for the first 4 songs. He kept kidding that he wanted to thank Jake for letting him open for himself. And to be honest I could have sat there all night in just that setting. Telling stories and playing some great music. It’s funny when you strip back all that production and only have an artist and a guitar how much more the people really listen.
When the full band kicked in the sold out crowd were on their feet. 1400+ strong the crowd sang along with so many of Jake’s hits. With palm trees and tiki huts on stage you definitely get that laid back feeling. I think it was when Jake decided to venture out into the crowd and reached the 2nd level handing out fist bumps and taking the odd selfie along the way. It really shows you the fan engagement and how much that he enjoys performing for his fans. An absolute fantastic evening in Niagara Falls Jake just recently signed a deal with Big Loud Records and we can’t wait to hear some of the new music coming down the pipe.
