On a night off from the Side Effects tour with Dallas Smith, The Cadillac Three rolled into Toronto to play a special intimate show in one of the city’s best Country Bar’s in Boots & Bourbon Saloon on Queen St.
Those in attendance were a mix of contest winners along with media and industry folks filling the place nicely for an unbelievable set by the trio from Nashville. The folks at Big Machine do a great job getting their artists to do some really cool intimate performances while in the area. But this was more than a 4 or 5 song promo show the boys hammered through 10 solid tunes before leaving the stage knowing the crowd could have withstood another 30 min of “Country Fuzz” from Jaren, Kelby and Neil.
The energy in the room really was truly electric. From one of the patrons in the back whispering in my ear “These guys are fucking amazing” while snapping a few pics to another coming up and thanking me for turning them onto the band. It was great to see music lovers taking in the best of what Nashville has to offer. They are singer / songwriters that have managed to capture something special that we haven’t seen in a long time. They are all born and raised in Music City and tell stories through songs that everyone can relate to at one time or another.
Couple of the highlights from the night were a couple cuts off the bands new album Legacy American Slang performed live is so damn good. And then Hank & Jesus well it’s easily my favourite off the new album and hearing it live just gives me chills.
The other is one of my favourites from the band in White Lightning and managed to capture a few seconds from that performance below.
The boys wrap up the Ontario leg of the tour tomorrow night in London before jumping on a plane to go and rock the shit out of Germany, France, Netherlands, England and Ireland with friends Brothers Osborne and Broken Witt Rebels if you are in those markets be sure to grab your tickets HERE. You won’t want to miss this show. #BlackRosesTour
