Future Bright for Luke Combs

American Singer Songwriter Luke Combs has a bright future ahead.  I recently sat down to listen to his debut album titled “This One’s For You” and was blown away.  In a time with services like iTunes, Spotify, Google Play any many more where we no longer have to purchase a full album to get the music we enjoy.  And I have to be honest I very rarely purchase an entire album.  In fact, the only albums I purchased recently for the entire album has been Zac Brown Band and Meghan Patrick.  Until now, I just had to purchase the entire Luke Combs album.

Luke Combs released the album just months ago following up his hit single “Hurricane”.  Combs newest single “When It Rains It Pours” is now climbing the charts.  It was no surprise to me to see an artist do well with one single but you have to take notice when they follow-up their first single with another great song.  Now, it was time to stop and really dive into this album and take notice of this artist.

Combs mentions that he gets inspiration from The Chief, Eric Church, and it is not hard to see that in his music.  All the songs on this album has a Churchisque sound but with a Chris Stapleton feel.  It is with this combination that I predict Combs will rise to the top in the music industry and have longevity.  His timing is perfect for his sound. The  mix of old country and bro country is just right.  To add to this already great recipe is that Combs co-wrote every song on the album.

Luke Combs is currently travelling with Brantley Gilbert but it will not be long for him to be headlining his own tour.  I know I will be one of the first people to get tickets.  We can only hope to see more of his performances in Canada at many of our great music festivals.

Here is a list of songs on the album.

  1. Out There
  2. Memories Are Made Of
  3. Lonely One
  4. Beer Can
