Sun K in Toronto

We caught Sun K at The Drake Hotel to hear the first play of their new album Bleeding Hearts, due out later this year. The first time we saw Sun K was at the Toronto Urban Root Festival and they left quite an impression. They have a great sound, kind of a timeless folk, rock’n roll, blues blend.

The Drake Hotel was packed, with fans and friends all having a great time. The bands lead vocalist Kristian gave a bit of a disclaimer before beginning to forgive any mistakes as its their first time playing Bleeding Hearts through to an audience. That was unnecessary of course, no mistakes from what anyone could tell. It was a great atmosphere, everyone was having a great time listening to the new material and the guys on stage were having a blast playing it.

Sun K’s debut album Northern Lies was a solid collection and hearing the new material, their upcoming release will be a great one as well that I personally am looking forward to picking up. Catch Sun K during Canadian Music Week at one of our favourite spots in Toronto. They’ll be at The Dakota Tavern on April 22nd. And keep an ear out for a single to be released soon.
